Sherwanis For Traditional Indian Grooms

Sherwanis are the most popular choice of attire for Indian grooms as they signify style and elegance. Dress and rituals are believed to be an integral part of every Indian wedding, hence both brides and grooms wear lavish outfits. Not only the couple but also the guests wear their best clothes. Since the Indian wedding ceremony lasts several days, the couple can wear a new dress every day.

In addition to the sherwani, the groom can opt for a chic tuxedo, designer pajama jacket, and embroidered dot jacket depending on the outfit. Sherwanis are very similar to coats but are long and are usually worn over a churidar or kurta. There are different types of designer bespoke menswear sherwanis and tuxedos for grooms which are usually bottomed up and makes the groom look graceful and elegant.

The groom can also accessorize himself with kalangi or kantha. The dress has a close body fit and has lining beneath the sherwani. Some of the Indian wedding sherwanis have outstanding crystals and hand embroidered thread work, while others have spectacular stones, mirrors, beads, and sequins work.

In the past, Shervani had hand embroidery, but nowadays, along with the times, machine embroidery is very fashionable, but there are still some people who prefer handmade embroidery. A variety of materials are used to make the dress, such as crepes, tusaris, woven silk, folded handkerchiefs, brocade, and zardozi, but cotton can also be selected to allow the groom to choose based on comfort and budget.
